Welcome to Uprisers University!

Uprisers University is the brainchild of Uprisers Founder Michelle Hanabusa and Actress/Content Creator Asia Jackson. As women of color in their respective industries, both Michelle and Asia have dedicated their work to amplifying underrepresented stories and advancing social change. With Uprisers University, their goal is to do just that—advance social change by amplifying stories, strengthening community, and making education a little bit more accessible.

Uprisers U’s core project is a video series called KNOW HISTORY KNOW SELF, conceived by Asia Jackson in collaboration with Uprisers, which aims to explore the truths and myths of this country’s history so we can move forward to collectively dismantle harmful systems & beliefs. We believe that knowing one’s history, gives one a greater sense of self.
